WARDOGS Server Status — Queues, Downtime & Hosting

WARDOGS launch week broke Steam records — and its own servers. 428,000+ concurrent players caused queues and outages that dominated the first reviews. This page explains the server situation, how to check status and what to do when you cannot connect.

What Happened at Launch

How to Check Server Status

Login Queues

When capacity is full the game shows a queue position before letting you in. Queues were worst in the first 48 hours (the final beta had queued 30,000+ players for the firing range alone). Do not restart the game to skip the queue — you lose your place.

Cannot Connect Fixes

  1. Check the official X/Discord first — if it is a global outage, no client fix helps.
  2. Restart Steam and the game; verify game files (Steam → Properties → Installed Files → Verify).
  3. If you see "failed to authenticate with online services", see the Fix & Errors page.
  4. Avoid VPNs — some players reported region checks failing while connected through a VPN.

Private Server Hosting

WARDOGS does not offer private or self-hosted servers — all matches run on BULKHEAD’s infrastructure. "Server hosting" searches are common, but there is nothing to rent; community servers are not on the roadmap.

Updated Sep 14, 2026. Server status changes quickly — always confirm outages in the official Discord before troubleshooting locally.
