WARDOGS Key — How to Get Access

For Early Access you buy the game directly on Steam — no external key needed. Beta keys were distributed through FirstLook signups, pre-orders and Twitch drops. This page covers every access route.

Early Access (No Key Needed)

From Sep 10, 2026, buy WARDOGS on the Steam store page and the game is added to your library. Standard Edition $39.99; Supporter Edition $49.99 adds the Supporter Pack (camos, helicopter camo, supporter icon, bobbleheads).

Beta & Playtest Keys

• FirstLook signup: register at community.wardogs.com, link Steam or Discord — the main channel for future playtest invites.
• Steam Request Access: free playtest access requests on the Steam page.
• Pre-order access: pre-ordering guaranteed a spot in the final closed beta.
• Twitch drops: past waves handed out beta keys via drops on partnered channels.

Key Warnings — Resellers & Scams

• No free keys are given out through Discord DMs — only trust official channels (BULKHEAD, Team17, Steam, FirstLook).
• Grey-market "CD key" sites (G2A, Kinguin and similar) are not authorized sellers. WARDOGS keys on these marketplaces are bought with stolen payment methods or re-listed beta keys.
• Resold keys get revoked. A key bought with a stolen card can be deactivated weeks later — after you have already played. Steam Support cannot restore grey-market purchases.
• Beta keys are not Early Access keys. Keys from earlier test waves do not unlock the launch build — some resellers sell them anyway.
• Region locks: the cheapest listings are often locked to another region and may not activate on your account.
• The only fully safe route is the official Steam store page — no key needed, the game activates directly in your library.

Key FAQ

• Do I need a key at all? No. Early Access is a direct Steam purchase — the game appears in your library, no code to redeem.
• I bought a key and it does not work — what now? If you bought from a reseller, there is no fix: Steam Support cannot restore grey-market purchases, and resold beta keys do not unlock the launch build. Charge back through your payment provider if you can. If you bought officially on Steam, use Steam Support.
• Can I gift the game? Yes — standard Steam gifting works from the store page.
• Will future playtests need a key? If BULKHEAD runs test events for future updates, access will come through FirstLook signups and Steam Request Access, not resellers — the announcement will be in the official Discord and on X (@WARDOGS).
