WARDOGS Gameplay Guide — How to Play

WARDOGS is a 100-player tactical FPS where three teams of 33 fight over a randomized 2x2km Control Zone inside a 256 km² battlefield. The first team to 100 points wins. This guide explains every system you need before your first drop.

The $10,000 Economy

Every player starts with $10,000 and your cash persists between matches. Every action earns money: kills, assists, spotted targets, driving, flying, building — even players spawning on your APC pays you. You spend cash every life on weapons, attachments, gear and vehicles, so loadout discipline is part of the meta.

Control Zone & Hot Zone

Each match drops a randomized 2x2km Control Zone into the map. Teams earn points by holding it. Inside the zone a roaming hot zone counts one soldier as two — fights rotate around it.

Towers & the Code

Capturing towers around the map reveals digits of a code. A team that collects all digits can draw the hot zone to its own position — a huge swing mechanic that rewards map control over pure fragging.

FOB Building & Logistics

Spotting & Recon

Equip binoculars in a utility slot, get high ground (towers, cranes, rooftops) and keep the reticle on a target until the tracking completes. Tags pay Recon XP and cash, and put the enemy on the tactical map for your whole faction. Spotted-kill assists are one of the fastest money-makers in the game.

Beginner Tips

  1. Stick with your squad — a lone rifleman is a free kill for a tank or helicopter.
  2. Buy mid-tier gear until you understand the maps; dying rich is dying anyway.
  3. Drive or fly early: it pays the bills and teaches the map.
  4. Ping enemies (see the Maps guide) — information is worth more than bullets.
  5. Expect wipes and rebalances during Early Access; the meta will move.
