WARDOGS Steam Charts — Player Count & CCU Records

WARDOGS is one of the biggest Steam launches of 2026. The all-time concurrent record hit 428,436 players on Sep 13 — behind only CS2 and Dota 2 — and over 1.25 million copies sold in the first days. This page tracks the numbers.

Live Player Count

Live numbers come from Steam’s own charts via third-party trackers (SteamDB). We do not embed live trackers here — check SteamDB’s WARDOGS page (app 1867240) for the current CCU. For outages and queue status, see the Servers page.

What the Numbers Mean

The launch curve was not a normal one. The final beta peaked at 245,118 — already enormous — and the open wave queued 30,000+ players for the firing range alone. That demand carried into launch: day one hit 337,157 concurrent, and the record landed on the first weekend at 428,436. The spike was driven by beta word-of-mouth, the "10 Reasons NOT to Buy" dev vlog going viral (wishlists passed 1 million right after), and positive beta coverage.

What happened next is the normal Early Access pattern: the record set, launch-week server queues drove a wave of negative reviews (the score dipped to ~74% — see the review page), hotfixes recovered stability and the score (~80%), and the daily player count settled below the peak. A declining CCU after a record launch is standard — the numbers to watch are whether big content updates (the first map drops, fighter jets on the roadmap) bring players back, and whether the seasonal structure (see Wipe & Seasons) creates return spikes at each season start.
