WARDOGS Crosshair — Reticle Options & Aim Settings
Crosshair customization is one of the most searched WARDOGS settings questions — and the honest answer is that the game does not have an editor. This page covers what actually exists: optic reticles, the community aim settings, and the third-party overlays some players use (and the risk they carry).
The Short Answer
WARDOGS has no in-game crosshair customization. No color, style, thickness or static/dynamic options are documented — the published settings guides list Display and Quality menu categories only. What you can actually change is your optic, your aim settings, or (unofficially) an overlay.
Reticle Options: The Four Reticle Reflex
The one verified reticle choice in the game is an attachment: the Four Reticle Reflex, a 1.2x reflex sight costing $580 per life, which offers four selectable reticles on the optic itself. It is the closest thing to crosshair customization WARDOGS ships with.
Community Aim Settings
The settings guides converge on these starting points (they are baselines, not a meta):
| Setting | Community starting point | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Mouse sensitivity | ~0.73 | The most-recommended baseline across settings guides; tune from here, not from default |
| ADS sensitivity multiplier | 1.00 | Keeps hipfire and scoped feel consistent |
| Mouse acceleration | Off | Acceleration makes flicks inconsistent — every aim guide turns it off |
FOV
Guides disagree on the "best" FOV and published ranges conflict (roughly 95–120). The consistent advice: raise FOV until close-range fights stay trackable without losing mid-range target clarity — there is no single community number yet.
Third-Party Crosshair Overlays
Because there is no in-game editor, some players run overlays like Crosshair X (a $3.99 Steam app that draws a crosshair over any game). Treat this as unofficial and at your own risk: WARDOGS runs a kernel-level anti-cheat, and BULKHEAD has not stated that overlays are permitted. If you get flagged while using one, there is no appeal path we can point to.
